My Ham Radio Journey

This site started as a place to document ham radio adventures, but like most good hobbies, it keeps growing roots into everything else I like: hiking, building tools, experimenting with gear, and chasing the next “what if I try…?” idea.

On the radio side you'll find a lot of portable operating, especially SOTA and POTA, with write-ups on activations, practical lessons learned, and lightweight setups that actually get used. I'm also a builder at heart, so I occasionally turn ham frustrations into small projects (like SpotMap, a map-based tool for POTA hunters and SOTA chasers).

Beyond radio, expect the occasional post about software, self-hosting, side projects, and general tinkering - the kind of stuff that tends to overlap with amateur radio anyway.

If you want to say hi, share an idea, or report something broken, feel free to reach out. And yes: some links on this site may be affiliate links (it helps fund the experiments).
